IN MEMORIM Bart Mesotten The most influential founder of Flemish, and Dutch, haiku passed away at the age of 89. He stimulated and influenced the development of haiku in Dutch, French and even Latin (being a lay priest). He organized many congresses and meetings while publishing important anthologies of haiku. "And," writes Adri van den Berg, "He was a kind person."
